Aunt Irene was the first sister born after my Dad. She was my Godmother. Godmother to the "oldest" cousin - me. The sad part of growing up is for whatever reasons, not staying in touch for years. And then, when my Dad got sick, in 2006 we met again and I feel so blessed that I did get to know her again, talk about the very old days, reminisce and hear her stories about growing up on 86th Street. And even better, she came to a community theater show I was in - can't believe it's 14 years ago now. She enjoyed every minute of it and told me she was proud of me, and gave me a necklace with a little star pendant on it. I still have it. And then my Dad was in the hospital and she visited him many times. The last time I saw her was a few days before my Dad passed and I drove her home from visiting my Dad. And then the years passed once again, life gets in the way, we make excuses, and you all know how it goes.
I am sad that she is gone, so sad for her kids and grandkids, and Uncle Jack, but I do feel blessed that we did connect again and I was able to spend a little time with my Aunt. I love you Aunt Irene, may you now rest in peace.
Love, your niece and Goddaughter, Jeanne Lynn

What a beautiful video of my Aunt Irene's life. I keep watching it over and over. Tears keep coming as I watch the video of
her life......and smiles of joy come too......
I remember those photos.....and some I have never seen before. She was a beautiful bride. I love the Honeymoon photo of
Aunt Irene and Uncle Jack. Aunt Irene looked like a model in that photo.
My Deepest Condolences to Uncle Jack, my cousins and their families. It is so heartbreaking to lose a loved one. I am sure that
Aunt Irene is now in Heaven with my Dad and the rest of the family.
Aunt Irene had the knack to buy the perfect gift for everyone. I inherited that gift-giving-knack from her. I loved going to her house when I was a child. Aunt Irene would let me look at all her catalogues. The Sears catalogue, The Sears Wishbook,
JCPenney name it..... she had them all. I could not wait until I was older.... and I would be ordering from those books too.....and I did...She was always showing me something that she bought. It was always different and unique.
I remember her spaghetti dinners that I loved. I remember that she had the biggest goldfish that I have ever seen... I remember Uncle Jack playing with the trains set....with all of us kids..... Uncle Jack was so good at his magic tricks.....all of a sudden a quarter would appear or a marshmallow. He was so good at it....I could never figure out how he did it....I remember that Aunt Irene always had my Mom perm her hair.....and Dwayne would that stinky stuff in my mother's hair again......Aunt Irene had the gift of gab.....she would call me on the phone and talk and talk.....and yap and yap for hours....sometimes two hours in each ear...... 4 hours total.....I am the same way....but Aunt Irene always beats me with the talking....I cannot hold a candle to her....I miss those long phone conversations....She would tell me about her cousins....She was so proud of all four of her children.....She would tell me...Jack is doing this and that....and Warren is doing this and that...and that Renee is doing this and that....and that Dwayne is doing this and that....she would go on and on and on.....and I LOVED IT.!!!!! She would also tell me about her grandchildren.....I miss those phone calls....It is so heartbreaking what happened to her....It is so heartbreaking what is happening right now in the world.....
My Mom has always told me stories when she and Aunt Irene were kids. I love hearing those stories. Today..... she told me more stories of their life...when they were younger.....and of their brother and sisters....6 siblings in all....I love hearing those stories.......
I will miss you Aunt Irene. I know that you are in Heaven and not in any pain......and in God's care.

Love Always, your Niece Darlene

Thank you so very much for the beautiful video of MY FAVORITE SISTER, Irene Rose.
It brings back many great memories. I will never forget her and she will always be
forever in my heart.
My deepest condolences to her husband Jack and her children and grandchildren.
My sister Irene was always there for me. I have so many great memories of her. She
bought me my first ice skates, transistor radio and beautiful clothes for everyone. She was
the BEST at gift giving. She was so thoughtful and generous.
Irene and Jack took me to the 1964 World's Fair for my graduation and birthday. It was the
hottest day of the year. I will treasure these memories forever.
Love your sister, Terry
