Monty Benedict Gonsalves, passed at home surrounded by his loving family on January 4, 2021. He was born on November 19, 1959 in Georgetown, Guyana where he attended primary school at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara and High School at St. Stanislaus, Brickdam, Georgetown. He started his career at the Royal Bank of Canada, in Georgetown, Guyana and departed for the United States in 1982. While attending Baruch College in New York City, he continued his career in the Banking Industry, working for Chase Manhattan (now JP Morgan Chase), and BNY Mellon over the next 35 years. His entrepreneurial drive enabled him to also open a prominent hardware store in Queens, NY.
